I think there was a thread here for this album. I still don't see a review of it, so Lycan or somebody may have one in the works. But people such as Jay might wish to grab a copy of this thing! I swear to God this is the most 70's Glam I have heard in years. To me it sounds as if Hanoi had chosen to make a pure 70's Glam tribute before they did "Back To Mystery City". Yeah, another comparison, but that is what I am getting out of this thing. VERY 70's, yet VERY mid-period Hanoi.
I was a little wary after the first song, but here I am on no. 5, and it keeps getting better and better! I love it so far.

I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF THE BAND (OR WASN'T) BUT I LIKED THEIR PREVIOUS ALBUMS!!! I GOT THIS ALBUM WITH THE PRECONCEPT OF BILL OPINION ABOUT BEING NOT A GOOD ALBUM, AND USUALLY I'M AGREE WITH ALL BILL'S OPINIONS!!! BUT THIS TIME SOMETHING DIFFERENT HAPPENED CUZ I REALLY LOVED IT AND MAY BE ONE OF THE BEST 3 ALBUMS OF THE YEAR AND I DON'T REMEMBER SO MANY ALBUMS IN THE LAST YEARS BEING SO CATCHIES!!!!

I won't be in town tonight, so do your best!!! LOL!!!
Nah, there are certain areas that remind me of something off of "Self Destruction", which is in all honesty the least Hanoi sounding of all the Hanoi's. But it is there in the writing. Shit, it's closer to Hanoi than fucking "12 Shots" is!
I haven't heard the others, something about them constantly being priced in the $30+ range that keeps me away from them. So my opinion of them may have been diffirent had I heard those first. But I do love this thing. Certain songs are actually songs that they should have turned over to Suzi Quatro, which is why I think Jay needs to check this thing out. The Song "Sould Of Sweetness" and "No Regrets" are PURE Suzi Q.
I don't know man, this is the first CD in a LOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG time that I hit the end on, and hit "Play" again, and am still going back and listening to songs again and again, and not skipping anything.
Easily the album to beat by years end for me.

Carl, how does it remind you of '70s glam? The production, song structure, choruses, what exactly?
Funny, I'd thought HCSS was leaning more towards punk these days.
As for Hanoi, SDB was mainly b-sides of singles and unreleased tracks. I like Oriental Beat and Mystery City the best. I do like SDB, especially Love's an Injection and Self-Destruction Blues. The two live albums, Live in Poland and Wasted Years, were good. I still can't get over how much Hanoi's Train Kept A Rollin' sounds like ASmith's version.
Back to HCSS again, how does one get a copy of said disc?
